Roseanne (Season 3) (1990)

It’s a shame that Roseanne Barr’s offscreen antics (both during and after the show’s run) took so much attention away from the fact that “Roseanne” was one of the best shows ever made, thanks to its nuanced character development and its emphasis on lower-class realities that were, and remain, unlike anything else. With the strengths of the ensemble cast (in particular Laurie Metcalf as Jackie), the show seems to exist in a bubble of its own, as though one is peaking into the life of a family instead of watching a show on television, and Season 3 has some of the show’s most poignant moments, including Becky meeting Mark.
