The final episode of Netflix’s reboot of the cult television show is one its strongest. The movie featured is, of course, terrible – this time, it’s the 1976 cheapie “At the Earth’s Core,” an absolutely dreadful science-fiction yarn with hilariously forced machismo from lead Doug McClure and an irritating Peter Cushing. It can sometimes be difficult to focus on the gang’s jokes because the movie is really such a minute-by-minute disaster that it naturally draws the viewer’s attention like a car crash. It’s hard to know what to make of the gang’s wrap-around storyline (namely, Kinga’s nuptial plans with Jonah), but the rest leading up to it is a lot of fun, in particular the early scenes from “Core,” which are staggeringly cheap and take some time to process.
