Following the shifting dynamics introduced at the end of a near-flawless second season would be a tall order for any show, but luckily NBC’s American reboot of the BBC sitcom had its players and showrunners perfectly in sync with its audience’s expectations. This season addresses many of the previous season’s cliffhangers in a languid, detailed manner that feels authentic, while never forgetting to put the laughs above all else. Continuing to benefit from tremendous comedic acting by all involved (in particular Steve Carell, whose Michael Scott will likely be remembered as a classic sitcom leading man in decades to come), this third season manages to reach the comedic and artistic heights of its predecessor.
