Kesha – Rainbow (2017)

Anyone expecting the same Lady Gaga-lite sound of Kesha’s signature pop is bound to get whiplash from the swift turn this album represents for the artist. After fighting a public legal battle against producer Dr. Luke (including allegations of sexual battery), Kesha returns here with fire in her belly and a newly discovered artistic focus. She retains the same penchant for quick, fast hooks but the content and arrangements of the tracks have shifted towards confessional pop and Pink-style empowerment pop-rock at its best – what emerges is a newfound pop diva with a strong voice and an indomitable spirit, captured on a thrilling, moving album, and the re-awakening of a voice gone quiet.

  1. This is a seriously great album! It’s one of those records that’s just so feel-good and cathartic you can’t help but listen to it over and over again. What were your favorite tracks?
