This is a surprisingly faithful remake to the 1978 original… right down to using the same footage from the low-budget predecessor in lieu of its own (it comes as no surprise that Roger Corman is a producer here). There’s nearly nothing of value here but it’s kinda fun anyways, with a surprising all-star cast, with everyone from William Katt to Mila Kunis to James Karen popping up. Lead Alexandra Paul has a tendency to grate on the nerves, but Katt hits the right notes in a semi-serious performance. But really, if you’ve seen the original there’s no reason to watch this.
