Madonna – MDNA (2012)

There’s a noticeable chasm between how Madonna’s twelfth studio album was received and what it actually sounds like. While critics criticized the superstar for adhering to EDM and radio-friendly pop, the album itself is an absolute blast specifically for those reasons: From “Girl Gone Wild” to “I’m Addicted,” to lower-tempo tracks like “Turn Up the Radio” and “Love Spent,” Madonna seems to be having a great time coming up with danceable, likable music, along with various touching tracks like “Masterpiece” and “Best Friend.” Although it doesn’t reach the heights of some of her previous albums, there’s so much to enjoy here.
