Easily one of the most original and visually striking shows imaginable. With a unique premise, crisp writing, and an extraordinarily likable cast, “The Good Place” demarcates itself primarily through its storyline (a sitcom ostensibly set in Heaven), but manages to avoid the pitfalls of a one-joke premise: Its characters are very well developed while the pace of the show is fast and furious, and there’s something so visually pleasant about its setting. Kristen Bell is perfectly cast in the lead role with tremendous support all around (in particular Adam Scott, in a late-season appearance).
