This one took me straight back to high school, where I discovered Tori Amos one late winter night and didn’t stop listening to her for a solid year or so. This live recording finds Amos at Peak Amos: She’s confrontational, artsy with a capital A, full of power and intimacy despite the rather noticeable size of the crowd. With a carefully selected tracklist of songs from her first three solo albums adapted to the sound of 1996’s “Boys for Pele” (her latest at the time), it’s a one-of-a-kind show but it’s surely not for everyone, as her lyrics ramble and she delights in weirdness, but there’s just nothing quite like a Tori Amos performance.
