The Office (Season 6) (2009)

Probably the least compelling and believable season of NBC’s smash comedy, Season 6 finds Dunder Mifflin and its employees adjusting to a growing series of changes, from new ownership to parenthood for Pam and Jim, among others. The problem perhaps is that there’s too much going on and not enough attention is paid to major plot points in various episodes, making for a difficult adjustment from the dramatically propelled first handful of seasons. Nevertheless the cast and writing are still strong, and the show makes great use of new antagonist Kathy Bates (who finds great depths to plunder in what could easily have been a one-note character) and the hapless Zach Woods, whose agitated, deadpan straight man radiates comic energy.
