Blondie – Pollinator (2017)

Even beyond how incredible it is that Blondie is still recording albums more than forty years into it, what’s more remarkable is that their albums are still great. Case in point: This latest effort from the group, which re-captures the same semi-satirical half-disco sound of “Heart of Glass” and adds in 1980s radio-friendly hooks and some modern synthesizers, sounds like it could have been released either this year or forty years ago. Debbie Harry has lost none of her edge over the years and she tears into each song with the same gusto she always has, resulting in crazy good pop singles like “Fun” and “Long Time” that stand out as some of the band’s best-ever work.
