At this point, “Portlandia” knows exactly what it’s doing, and its audience knows exactly why they’re watching. It’s the type of absurd sketch comedy show that’s somewhere between excruciating cringe comedy and laugh-out-loud non-sequitur, and while not every sketch works, the ones that do are golden. Fred Armisen seems to have found his groove and smoothed out some of his less successful comedy tactics (like his habit of repeating half-articulated thoughts or simply making a silly face instead of delivering a punchline), but the show is all about Carrie Brownstein, who anchors each sketch with her down-to-earth deadpan comedic timing. “Portlandia” is love-it-or-hate-it for most people, but longtime fans will find plenty more to enjoy here.
