The third entry in the weirdly charming series with the bargain basement production values is, without a doubt, the best one so far… but that doesn’t say much. This time, the Ghoulies talk and the tone moves from silly horror to full-on campus comedy not unlike “Revenge of the Nerds” meets “Hobgoblins,” which proves surprisingly effective. Director John Carl Buechler is clearly relishing the opportunity to go for broke here and is bravely struggling against a low budget, while the screenplay is occasionally clever and the cast seems to be having fun. The whole thing goes down easy and indiscriminate horror fans will find plenty to enjoy.
