A worthy successor to the hilarious performer’s smash success “Baby Cobra,” “Hard Knock Wife” finds Ali Wong adjusting to motherhood while pregnant with her second child, and much of the material wonderfully recalls the best moments from her previous effort. It’s astounding that Wong is able to recreate a mood and comedic experience similar to her breakthrough given how popular it’s become, and focusing on more of the same is the right move here. Wong’s act is still wonderfully profane and vulgar so it’s certainly not for modest viewers, but for those with a high tolerance for shock comedy will find plenty to love here. There are a series of highlights peppered throughout and it’s a pleasure to watch from beginning to end.
