A wonderful addition to the “Little Britain” franchise, this is surely one of the best seasons of the show’s entire run. From the first sketch – a “Fat Fighters” episode featuring a laugh-out-loud appearance by Rosie O’Donnell – it’s clear that creators David Walliams and Matt Lucas are feeling renewed comedic inspiration. The new characters introduced here are solid and engagingly familiar, while there are plenty of new situations for the established ones to find themselves in. Much like the end of its original British run, the season finale is one of the finest finales I’ve seen, managing to upend many of its own conventions and ending each sketch on a high note.
