Tremors 5: Bloodlines (2015)

It’s incomprehensible that there are still new “Tremors” movies being released in the twenty-first century. Moreover, it’s particularly jarring that Michael Gross continues to appear in them, despite a pretty thorough lack of interest on behalf of the audience. Gross is, at best, a poor man’s Bruce Campbell: Filled with one-liners and lame jokes but none of the charm, watching him flounder on screen as though the filmmakers couldn’t get enough of him is irritating and confounding. Add in a bloated, dehydrated Jamie Kennedy and the insufferably factor goes up several notches. What once started as a promising horror-comedy series has gradually degraded into an obnoxious series for undemanding audiences that grunt appreciably at any gore effect, no matter how ineffectual or unnecessary.
