Madonna – Who’s That Girl: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (1987)

This soundtrack to the 1987 movie of the same name is a rare misstep among Madonna’s discography. Mind you, only four of the album’s nine tracks are by the Queen of Pop despite it being credited as one of her albums, and unsurprisingly her input here results in some of the album’s best tracks, like “Causing a Commotion” and “The Look of Love.” However, most of the other tracks (besides Scritti Politti’s “Turn it Up”) are generic and forgettable – in fact, almost any of the tracks could be sampled as an example of the blandness of many 1980s radio-pop hits.
