Blondie – Greatest Hits (2002)

Few greatest-hits compilations feel as organic and cohesive as Blondie’s. From the opening chords of “Dreaming,” with the album veering from one massive hit after another like “Call Me” and “One Way or Another,” all the tracks feel like a conveyor belt of top-shelf classic rock. While I’ve never been a big fan of “The Tide is High,” I found that it flows well here, sandwiched as it is between the flashier “Heart of Glass” and “X Offender,” and it’s great to hear lesser-known hits like “In the Flesh” and the extraordinary “Maria” on the same record. Highly recommended for fans of classic rock (but they already know that).
