Following her casually ferocious take-down of both the Trump administration and the complicit media at the White House Correspondents Dinner, I was thrilled that Michelle Wolf had a politically-minded talk show premiering on Netflix, and I was not disappointed. Mind you, Wolf is certainly not for everyone: In between her distinctive voice, her occasional madcap comedic delivery and her ability to deliver a cutting line without an ounce of regret, she’s surely an acquired taste. It takes a few episodes for Wolf and the show to find its footing and there are still some kinks to be smoothed out (in particular her regrettable choice for a sidekick DJ, whose forced, insincere reactions to her humor are a constant distraction). But when it works it really works, and there’s plenty of potential left over for a second season.
