I absolutely adore documentaries about horror movies and franchises so I was stoked for this one, only to discover that it’s a never-ending bore. Perhaps it’s because horror fans have been spoiled by the likes of superior franchise documentaries such as “Never Sleep Again” and “Crystal Lake Memories,” but it doesn’t seem like much works here: The talking-head interviews are flatly presented with no visual appeal, and it seems as though all the participants were asked the same questions, which means the audience has to hear the same production stories again and again. The four-and-a-half-hour running time is preposterous, in particular since there’s only about material here for a 90-minute feature, and without the assistance of an economical editor, the entire thing is downright interminable.
