It’s a shame that this studio horror movie went by unnoticed, because it’s definitely a nifty little number with some cool moments and there. It blends elements from previous horror franchises like “Wishmaster,” “Final Destination” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” and while it means some of it feels and looks familiar, it’s at least a fun visual identifier for horror fans. Overall the acting is pretty solid despite the rather thin script, with an interesting cast that includes Ryan Phillippe and Sherilyn Fenn, and while none of them are given much to do, it’s still cool to see them in the same movie. The death scenes are often pretty shocking, and while the plot is often predictable, the movie goes down like comfort food – you could do a lot worse than this.
