Although the first “Revenge of the Nerds” isn’t exactly Masterpiece Theatre, it deserves much, much better than this abysmal excuse for a sequel. There are barely any laughs to be had as the boring, barely existent plot flops along, transplanting the “nerds” from the original’s memorable campus sorority setting to a Florida hotel for a fraternity conference, and forgetting to bring any humor along for the ride. Robert Carradine does his best to lead the movie without original co-star Anthony Edwards (who appears only in brief scenes here and there), but despite his charms there isn’t much he can do with such inferior material. Without Edwards, Curtis Armstrong’s Booger and Timothy Busfield’s Pointdexter get more screentime, but in the end it only proves that a little can go a long way.
